In Matthew 28:18 – 20 we read: “And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

The Global Outreach Offering this year will go to the projects listed below.

PROJECT SEND: This is a fund set up to “send folks from our body” into the world for outreach and ministry (often short term). This is the power of Partnerships in action.

BIBLE TRANSLATION: In reaching out and making disciples, there is nothing more valuable than making sure that a people group has the Scriptures in their own language. Because of our ongoing interest in ministering to the people of NE Congo, we asked the SEED Company (an arm of Wycliffe Bible Translators) to present us with information on the need among a people group there. They shared with us about the LOGO people group. There are 200,000 people in this people group and it is thought that as many as 10% of them are displaced because of the unstable situation that is created by the LRA (The Lord’s Resistance Army) and their raids and atrocities in the region. Despite these challenges, the Logo team has persevered. Our desire is to partner with the SEED Company and fund the Logo translation. The local church in the is eagerly awaiting the completion of the Scriptures in their language. We initially gave a gift of $3,500 to this project and another gift of $35,000 last year. We hope to cover the cost of the entire project over this and next year’s Global Outreach Weekend Offering.

TEACHING and TRAINING: We continue to minister in partnership with several organizations and this year we are looking at opportunities to be involved in South SUDAN, UGANDA, and KENYA.
a. SOUTH SUDAN: We have worked for several years in close relationship with ALARM (African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries) (since 2003), primarily involved at their training institute CLIS in Yea, South Sudan, and will continue this vital partnership of equipping men and women in South Sudan.
b. UGANDA: In Uganda we work with CLIDE and Dr. Val. Our goal is to continue our involvement among the Karamojong people and the Peace Villages, and also be active in teaching and training of Pastors and Church leaders in the area. This year we would like to partner with the local church in the area and focus on facilitating a marriage conference for local Pastors and their wives.
c. KENYA: Global Outreach Staff Shel and Kym Arensen worked for several years among the Dorobo people of Kenya and saw many church planted. One of the main Dorobo pastors, Pastor Julius has expressed a vision from the Lord to start a non-denominational prayer center which will offer songs of praise and God’s Word every evening – a voice of hope and truth in an otherwise very dark region of Kenya. We want to partner with Julius and the Dorobo church re this much needed prayer center. Julius feels that without this type of outreach we will lose the next generation of Dorobo youth.

RESPONDER LIFE: We will also continue our partnership with Responder Life, a local organization which is committed to minister to the men and women (nationwide) who are First Responders (Police, Fire, Dispatchers and EMS).
