Ecclesia

What a joy it is to be a part of Christ’s Church. To be a part of something far bigger than ourselves. To be a part of God’s vision for the future. To have the history together in this place of how God has used small people to do big things for His Church both in our community and around the world. To have a blank canvas to watch what God will do next. It never gets old as we live for the future and each of us gets to leverage our faith for Christ’s bride.  We are certain of what God does for His Children who believe Him, and we are certain about what He is building: His Church.

To that end, the Elders invite you to dream God’s dream with us. To take Him at His word, and believe that He is building what He said He is. To believe He intentionally created every body member with unique gifts that He would love to see be used to build His church.

We have a magnificent history of little people in little places, believing God, and watching His Church be built. It is the Elder’s heart that this crystal clear vision, always remain crystal clear: Christ’s Church will be built. “Church” comes from the Greek word ecclesia, which means “to come together.”

Our dream is God’s dream: to come together, and we want to continue to invite new generations to join in the forever assembly.

Coming together requires unity. It requires communication. It requires everyone being on the same page. It certainly requires some sacrifice for the good of the order. The Elders are passionate about the past, present, and future of Good Shepherd. We have seen God provide for us in the past, we are watching Him provide for us right now, and we are certain He will provide for us in the future. We could not be more excited about Bob, and how he fits with our body, Christ’s vision, and Good Shepherd’s historic example.

In light of doing things together, the elders would like to make sure you know we are available to you. If you have a question, we would like to invite you to reach out to us personally or stop us in the lobby between services. We’d love to talk with you. The beautiful thing is even though each elder is very different, each of us are united and agree on the past, present, and future of Christ’s Church and how we get to be a part of it here in East County.

So we invite you to dream. We invite you to ask any questions you may have of the Elders. There is great power in us communicating.  We would love to share the excitement we all feel together and continue to be together with each of you. We look forward to building Christ’s Church together. We invite you to engage. Imagine what God can continue to do with us!

It’s going to be big! And we can’t wait.
