California Mission Trip Update #3

Jerayl and Josh’s team:
It’s been amazing to see the Lord answer direct prayers throughout the entirety of this trip. Before heading down, we asked the church to pray for safe travels, great unity between teams, and for a sensitivity to the Holy Spirit.
The drive down went just about as smooth as it could go. Although Friday was a hot one, Saturday was a bit more bearable, and we pulled in to our church later that evening all ready for a week full of serving!
Throughout this week, our team has quickly bonded together, as many students have highlighted during our service times that they’ve deeply valued the unity they’ve been experiencing with one another. New friendships have been formed, trust has grown deeper, and many moments of worship and praise have marked the memories made on this trip. We entered into this trip as a group, and we will be coming back home as a family rooted in Christ.
At both the VBS and the sports camps, students were given the opportunity to lead small groups with kids, where they would spend time going over Bible stories and memorizing verses. At the end of the sports camp, one of our students got to lead the kids at the camp in a prayer to accept Jesus into their heart as their Lord and Savior. With many of these students being pushed outside of their comfort zones, they relied on the Holy Spirit to better lead and serve the kids at their camps, while they displayed the truth of the Gospel to those they were serving.
Thank you for partnering with us in prayer, as these students have been taking their next steps with God, and others, on mission!
