Greece 2 Team – Update #4

As I, tOdd, write this, we’re a few short hours away from our first full day at the refugee camp (11 September). We’ve received our training, we’ve worked most of a day at an administrative office offsite cleaning inside and out, we’ve received a tour of the camp a few days ago as part of our training, we’ve interacted with many expats (non-Greek passport holders) from around a half dozen other nations who are here also serving in this capacity, both short term and long term, and now we’re here.

In the same way each of us on this team have previously felt the Lord essentially say “My heart has heard you say ‘Come and talk with me’”, we pray that those we seek to serve would ultimately—eventually—have hearts that say “Lord, here I am – I’m coming to you now”.

Pray for our team as we ‘drill down deeper’ into the what and why of our being here and (but) that we would never, ever lose sight of the Who (thank You, Jesus) as we “consider others better than ourselves” (Phil 2:3). Praises, too, as the Lord navigates in His good and faithful ways (as He does) events or opportunities that are for our mutual edification as a team.

Picture: at the seaside office where we worked, as placed above the mantel in the front room. A very apropos Scripture for the work and the space.

PS — as you pray for us and follow this blog, as an advanced heads-up courtesy, just be aware we are not allowed to take any pictures whatsoever inside the camp; as such please know that as you pray and follow, what you sometimes may see here is strategically positioned and is never intended to be cryptic or ‘avoiding’ why we’re here and who we’re here to assist (the refugee) // all love in Him…
