Serbia Team 2022

Meet the Team

Keith Smith - Team Leader
Hello! I’m Keith and I am the Young Adults Director at Good Shepherd. I’ve loved getting to serve our young adults over the past several years, watching God work in their lives in some pretty amazing ways. I’m very excited to see how God will use our young adults to love on and share the Gospel with students in Serbia, inviting them to join the family of God. I can’t wait to watch God work in the lives of all of the students and church members in Backa Topola!

April Hegland - Team Leader
I’ve been a part of GSCC for about 13 years. You may have seen me playing keyboard in the Classic services or for Breakout/Kid’s Quest. I work at Guide Dogs for the Blind as an Instructor and I love what I do! But one of my favorite all-time activities is to participate in Short Term Teams. I am thrilled to be traveling to Serbia for the 6th time. There are so many things I’m looking forward to, but I am most excited about seeing my team grow and seeing how God has grown and matured the students I met 2 years ago. Some new believers from 2 years ago are going to be helping with camp this year!

Bailey Rapp
Bailey Rapp works with Good Shepherd, a part of Media and Communications. Bailey graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Media and video. I am eager to be a part of this team! This will be my first time helping on a Short Term Missions team abroad. I am looking forward to meeting the students we will be teaching in Serbia and the opportunity to serve for God’s Glory. I can’t wait to see how God utilizes us on this trip.

Christian Brown
Christian is passionate about serving others and showing Jesus’s love to those around him. He was excited to hear about the opportunity to be part of a team that teaches at an English camp in Serbia that shares the Gospel with the youth. Christian strongly feels God’s calling for him to take a big step outside
of his comfort zone to serve in Serbia this year and is praying that God would help him lead many to Christ in order that God’s may be glorified.

Colby Carter
Colby works as the Audio Production Engineer here at Good Shepherd. He recently moved to Oregon from Southern California where he grew up. He likes music, dogs, and rock climbing. I’m excited to go to Serbia as a messenger of the gospel to share the love of Christ and grow in my faith.

Hayden Kehn
Hi, I’m Hayden! Over the past year, I have extensively studied European history and culture. I’m in the process of learning Hungarian and am so excited to interact with the locals in Bačka Tapola. I can’t wait to see how God is working in a little town across the planet!

Jen Karn
My name is Jen Karn and I am on staff here at Good Shepherd for Communications and Worship. I’m also very involved with the student and young adult ministries. I’m excited to join some of my fellow young adults to serve on the Serbia team. I’m hopeful that the Lord will use the English camps as an outlet for many to hear the Good News, and I pray that I can see God move hearts during our time there.

Julia Bressel
My name is Julia Bressel, I am 18 years old, and I am going to school at Portland State University for Speech and Hearing Sciences. I am hoping to see God work in ways which use the gifts he has given me to be a witness to the people in Serbia.
