Serve

As followers of Jesus, each of us have been given gifts and passions that are for the purpose of serving and building up the church. Through serving at Good Shepherd, we get the opportunity to both love our church family with our gifts and engage in relationship alongside them as we all participate in the life of the church. Join one of our many teams and get involved now! We would love for you to participate in the life of Good Shepherd’s community by being a part of one of our amazing teams.

Not sure where you’d like to serve and need help finding a place for you? Have questions about serving? Send us a message.

Weekend Service Production

Use your technical skills for the glory of God! For those who are talented at music, lighting, and stage production, join our team to help guide and lead others into an authentic worship experience.

Connect Team

Be a part of a team that desires to give people next steps in order to be connected in relationship and get involved in the life of the church. Help invite people into our community gatherings by creating a welcoming environment as an Usher, Greeter, or Parking Attendant, engaging people in relationship through Hospitality, and answering questions at the Welcome Center.

Kids Ministry

Love and care for kids while walking with children as they begin their journey to loving Jesus. Come alongside parents as they navigate raising their children with a Jesus-centered approach.

Worship Ministry

Use your musical talents in helping others be led into the presence of God through worship at our weekend services or in our other ministries.

Buildings and Grounds Team

For all of those hands on, fix-it type people, here is an opportunity to do that for the glory of God in our church community. Be involved in the maintenance and upkeep of our beautiful building and property, giving us a space that we are proud to call our church.

Communications

Be involved in the process of spreading the love of Jesus through many different avenues, like social media or writing encouraging blog articles, to broadcast what Jesus is doing at Good Shepherd. Use your gifts and passions in the realm of technology by helping to produce high quality audio and video content for the purpose of sharing the love of Jesus with our church and our community.

Ministry to Women

Show Christ’s love to other women by serving in Women’s Bible Study or our ministry to Moms. We have all kinds of opportunities from greeting to mentoring. Christian sisterhood is a vital component for our spiritual growth. In Women’s Bible Study we are looking for greeters, beverage crew, event decor, event set-up, media, worship & parking. In Mom to Mom we need help with our set-up and clean-up, greeting, the beverage station, media and mommy mentors.

Student Ministries

Help Jr. High and High School students encounter Jesus, train them in Biblical foundations and disciplines, and create fun and lasting memories. Be a part of a safe place for students to come and be loved for who they are and be challenged to grow in their faith.

Locally

Local Outreach connects you, your family or small group with the best ministry fit so you can reach out in His name. From serving the homeless a meal to helping a child learn to read; there’s a way for you to express God’s love in our community.

Below are ways you can start serving in our community.

CAST Collecting for Survivors

The Good Shepherd CAST (Crisis and Abuse Support Team) is collecting tangible resources to fill very nice canvas tote bags that are being handmade and donated to us by a local vendor we met at the Harvest Bazaar. These bags will go to abuse and trauma survivors in need of basic resources and clothes. To be sure we are collecting the most needed items and quantity, we have created an Amazon Wish List. If you would like to help support survivors who have experienced Domestic Violence, Abuse, Sexual Exploitation, or other trauma, please visit the GSCC CAST Resource List on Amazon.

For more information about CAST, please contact Allison VanZanten.

Young Life Needs

Barlow Younglife currently has lots of needs right now but one of the biggest ones is leaders! They are looking for chill people who love God and Love kids and have a heart for the lost. They are targeting kids who do not know Christ and want to create a place where they want to be and where they slowly get introduced to the Gospel. Their goal is to find leaders from this church who come to Younglife and build relationships with these kids and live life with them. A relationship that eventually leads into bringing them back to Good Shepherd to get them connected to our church! Contact Taylor Burnett for more information.

globally

Global Outreach is our extension of sharing the gospel to the ends of the earth. We strongly support our Global Outreach Staff who have accepted the call to full-time missionary work. We also strive to educate the church about the various needs of our global partners so we can pray specifically and give generously. We also provide opportunities to join God in what He is doing throughout the world through short-term mission teams.
