Thailand Team Update #4

The last couple of days have been filled with inspiring moments that have enriched our journey. Walking the students to school has deepened our bonds, while spending time with staff and their families has fortified our relationships. By completing a clean-up project on the dorm grounds, we supported the dedicated staff, enduring the heat and challenges posed by nature, including various insects and bites. Our visit to Parkerland, with its picturesque rice fields, fishing pond, and chickens, reminded us of the beauty and harmony discovered in nurturing resources that feed the students. We even had the chance to fish, providing fresh food for the dorm.
A trip two hours into the mountains took us along winding dirt roads in the jungle, leading us safely to the village of some of our students’ families, where we were treated to amazing coffee, lovingly farmed and roasted by them. The breathtaking views from these mountain homes serve as a testament to the magnificence of God’s creations. We witnessed the progress of the church we visited last year—transformed from mere foundation and framing to a vibrant construction phase. Hearing how God has provided in each step has been incredible. After visiting with the families, we traveled to another village, where we enjoyed a beautifully prepared meal and shared stories with some of the fathers of the students. The team then was hosted and able to spend the night in the mountains. Listing to the rain and cicadas made for some light sleep. Today we woke up to the sound of roosters and the smell of coffee and breakfast. After breakfast we will head back to the dorm and prepare for another day with the students. God is working in the villages and in the mountains. Please be praying for the people in the villages, the students families and continued health and safety for the team.
