As women who are thirsty for God and pursuing genuine relationships, we are excited to invite you to join our Fall 2020 Women’s Bible Study. In the last few months we have seen how important relationships are for our well-being and spiritual growth and this fall experience is going to provide a whole new way to bring us together and study the Word.

This year we will be studying the book of Hebrews using a Bible study written by Jen Wilkin entitled Better. In this verse-by-verse study we will explore how God “provided something better for us” in the person of Jesus Christ (Heb. 11:40). Through stories of Old Testament heroes and practices, the author of Hebrews demonstrates how the new covenant is superior to the old and how Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of every promise.

Good Shepherd Women’s Ministry is offering you an opportunity to learn and grow with the women of our church. We have designed a framework where everyone is encouraged to find a small group of people who will study together. In a small group of 3-6 people we will actually be able to “do life” together as well as go through the lessons. Our hope is that we will stay in the Word, stay in relationship with each other, and enjoy the experience and closeness of smaller groups.

To become a member of Women’s Bible Study you will need to purchase the book Better, by Jen Wilkin and register through the Good Shepherd website. Registration will open on September 1. Please note that registration will be online only. The cost is $10. Your membership will include:

  • The fall schedule for the ten lessons in Hebrews
  • Access to Jen Wilkin’s messages on Hebrews
  • Access to resources to help you study the Bible
  • Individual help and support if needed
  • Small group support and encouragement through videos and emails

Mom to mom

Moms with little ones from newborn to age five meet once a month to hear a special speaker and discuss topics on marriage and parenting. Fellowship, encouragement, mentoring and fun is the focus of the time together.

Because of the pandemic, Mom to Mom is postponed until January.

Our annual Women’s Retreat will be February 19-21, 2021 at Cannon Beach Christian Conference Center. We will get away for a time of refreshment and fun. Our theme this year will be “Be Still and Know that I am God”. We are looking forward to hearing from our own team of Kristi Knott, Jenny Ivester and Rakel Thurman as they guide us into the Word and we will come away challenged to grow in the Lord.

Harvest Moon

Our annual bazaar that takes place every November was cancelled this year because of the pandemic. We hope to see you next year where we will have more than 80 vendors bringing their handcrafted items to show and sell. Vender applications open in June and close in August for the 2021 bazaar. It is a great place to browse, meet up with friends, enjoy the café and do some Christmas shopping.
