Argentina Team Update #13

Last Update

This morning, we said goodbye to Tom Feeney and Segundo as they went their separate ways. We still had all day to burn, so we walked to a nature reserve and made a 3.5-mile trek out of it. I didn’t wear the correct shoes and gave myself a couple blisters. We cannot be stopped though! The return journey must be made, and we are a mission focused group. At some point during the day, Mike Rider bought a key for each person of the team. The intention was that the key represent a memory or lesson learned on the trip. My favorite suggestion that I heard was that the key represented unlocking more relationships and opening the door to grow this ministry. What a thoughtful and generous guy!

Tom Cooney helped organize some taxis and it was awesome to see all three of them pull up in unison and immediately load our bags. I expected to hear “get in, there’s no time to explain!” The drive to the airport was reminiscent of mini coopers in the movie The Italian Job with the three small taxis weaving in and out of traffic. Well, the other two taxis were. The car that Chris, Ryan, and I were in had clearly not seen the movie. But we all arrived to the airport safely and on time! After a 10-hour flight and no sleep, I am finding myself sipping on a Vente vanilla latte, capitalizing on the brief window of mental competency to write this update at 4 in the morning.

If there is one thing that I would like to leave whoever is reading this with, it’s that this trip was a resounding success. We were prepared, carried out our mission, and showed love to our brothers and sisters in Argentina. Thank you for whatever support you gave for this to happen. I hope to be able to sit down and expand on some of the opportunities we had and fun things we experienced. Between all of us in the group, we also have a ton of pictures. Well done everyone, we will see you soon!
