Greece: Samos Team Update #5

Our time on the island of Samos has come to a close. We have all felt God’s presence and goodness. We have experienced answers to prayer and His leading.
We were so encouraged by our visit to the Hope House where we heard about the ministry to the refugees in the nearby mountain camps. The volunteers there are amazingly steadfast and effective. In the three days we were here on the island, there were still refugees arriving on boats from Turkey. Unfortunately, there were a large number of drownings that also occurred. Two people even swam across to this Greek island.
We’ve had many continued prayer times, done a lot of prayer-walking, and have had many meaningful conversations. The icing on our Samos cake was today when we were able to give away Greek New Testaments to a woman who had asked for a copy. She also heard the Gospel message in a personal way. Thank you, Lord!
On Friday we will arrive back at the Oikos conference and hear reports of all the Lord has done through these outreach teams that were dispersed over the country. Following that we will share two days of debriefing before we fly home early next week.
Thank the Lord with us for His lovingkindness!
Prayer:
- We had a very sweet time of closure with the hotel owners, A&A. We left them some special gifts. Please pray that their hearts are touched by the Lord in His time.
- Please pray for traveling mercies in and around Athens.
- For continued health for all of our team members through our debriefing days.
Efkharisto!
