France Team Update #4

The second day of English camp was so wonderful! We have all established relationships with different people and it is so fun to grow deeper in getting to know them. Makayla and I led everyone in the Cha Cha Slide as a fun warm up, but even us Americans had to learn what the Charlie Brown dance move is. 😀 We worshipped as Matea and Sophia Vixathep played guitar.

After the devotional today, everyone got to share how they accepted Christ in small groups. It was very cool to hear from some of the older crowd who have followed God since they were young and the ones whose paths to Jesus were longer but filled with God’s faithfulness. So many at the camp are filled with love for Jesus and absolute trust in His plans for them. It is awe-inspiring for us how they radiate joy and hope when they share their stories.

As for the English class portion, that has been going very well for every level! I’m helping with the beginner group alongside Makayla and Sophia and we’re having lots of fun with the participants in our group. We are teaching each other many things! Everyone at camp is genuinely eager to improve their English and is so invested in every lesson, which is awesome to see.

After camp, our team got some much-needed time to rest a bit and debrief the day. Then some of us went back out to a watch party for the France vs Spain semifinal in the World Cup. Others took advantage of the night to keep recharging after a jam-packed start to the week. The watch party took place at a church where members of the English Alive team attend, not far from where we are staying. The get-together was great, however France sadly lost 0-2 and are out of the World Cup.

Our team is so happy to be here, we have been loving every moment so far. We would really appreciate prayers for the rest of camp. Specifically, that the Lord would keep stirring hearts and we would be vessels for what He wants to do. Thank you!

God bless,

– Hannah Stickney, for the team
