Greece 1 Team – Update #9

Hello prayer warriors.

There is a saying that time flies when you are having fun. We have experienced time flying by these past two weeks in service to the Persons of Concern (POCs) in camp. The time flew because we were living in the joy of service, excited each day to discover how God would use us. We prayed along with all of you back home who supported us that we would fulfill our divine appointments each day. We were granted the strength, compassion, and courage through assignments that tapped into each team members strength. We truly, with God’s ever-present help fulfilled the mission of reaching out to others as ambassadors of His love. We provided for the POCs physical needs by distributing clothing, pillows, hygiene items and food. And just as important, through the work in men’s and women’s community engagement centers and educational outreach with children we also met educational and emotional needs as well.

Surprisingly, we found ourselves in position to not only support the POCs, but also some of our fellow volunteers from across the world through enlightening and enriching conversations that led us to making long-term commitments to pray for each other. These prayers will be offered up along with those for POCs who touched our heart’s in a very memorable way.

Ezekiel 36:26 states: “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you. I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”

Isn’t it great that God does this for each of us and will do that for those we reach out to. This is God doing all the work and giving us the joy of participating in His Kingdom building work. He takes cold stony hearts and turns them into hearts with a soft willing spirit; from death to life; to a person not afraid to share their faith with people; not afraid to ask questions and to have genuine interest in people; not afraid to offer hospitality and take risks. God is at work and can take imperfect words and actions and do great things with them. We feel blessed to have been entrusted with this mission. We will cherish the images of the smiles we received in response to our God empowered efforts made with hearts softened by His wonderful grace and mercy.

Thank you again for your continued prayers. God continues to work.
