Greece Team Update #6

The people of Greece need Christ. Most homes do not have a copy of the Bible. We are passing out New Testaments from the Greek Bible Society, translated into the modern Greek by Greek Orthodox priests.

We are grateful to be part of Operation Joshua, with over 600 volunteers and non-profit staff from over 27 countries. We have met people from Greece, Ukraine, USA, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Australia, Taiwan, Switzerland, Kenya, Belgium, Czech Republic and even Seattle. The worship times and fellowship have provided a little taste of heaven. Everyday 85 vans and cars, based in 3 locations, have carried volunteers to towns and villages.

We returned to the hotel at midnight one night after delivering New Testaments to rural villages 2 to 3 hours away. Yesterday our van delivered over 1000 New Testaments to apartments in a seaside resort town. We did experience some instances of opposition and resistance. The head of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Metropolis directed their priests and members to throw our New Testaments in the garbage. The church especially objects to an insert who briefly describes the personal testament of a dramatically changed life after finding Christ. Some have been questioned by the police, but we have also experienced divine appointments of appreciation and receptive hearts. We need to continue to pray for those who have received this year’s 180,000 New Testaments.

Thank you for your prayers and support.
