Romania Team Update #3

Thank you all so much for continuing to lift us up in prayer—God is truly moving, and we have felt His hand in every step of our journey!

Sunday morning we had the opportunity to attend church here in Medgidia, and what a blessing it was. We were greeted with open arms and started the day with a delicious breakfast prepared by the Romanian church team. It was such a gift to share a meal and worship with our Romanian brothers and sisters.

During the service, Christian shared an incredible message that challenged and encouraged us all. One of our own team members also had the opportunity to share her testimony during the service, which was a powerful moment for our team and church. After church, we stayed for lunch at the church and continued to enjoy sweet fellowship before heading back to prepare for camp.

Once everything was packed, we loaded up the vans and began our 8-hour drive to camp. It was a long, hot journey, but God gave us sweet time for team bonding, laughter, and meaningful conversations. We arrived at camp around 12:30am, got settled in quickly, and went straight to bed to rest before the campers arrived the next day.

We woke up early Monday morning as the campers began arriving! From the very beginning, it was clear that we would need to stay flexible and ready for anything—God definitely answered that prayer! As we helped the campers get settled in, we jumped right into building relationships, learning names, and encouraging the Romanian leaders as they took the lead in hosting.

That afternoon was Water Day—a much-anticipated and very fun [but slightly chaotic] experience! There were all kinds of water-themed games, relays, and team-building activities. While there were a few challenges (including trying to manage all the moving parts in the heat), we had spent time in prayer beforehand, and God truly answered. The campers had a blast, our team was unified and adaptable, and it was amazing to see joy and laughter breaking the ice between us and the students.

After dinner, we came together for our first evening session. Worship was heartfelt and beautiful, and Christian delivered a powerful message on “Taking Off the Mask”—challenging students to be real, to step out of hiding, and to accept Jesus Christ into their lives. It was deeply impactful, and we saw God beginning to soften hearts.

To end the night, we jumped into our first evening activity: Western Night! We dressed up, played themed games, and danced together. Even though many of the campers were tired, everyone got into the spirit and we shared lots of laughs.

As we reflect on these first few days, we’re filled with gratitude. God is already answering so many of our prayers: team unity, open doors for conversation, energy, and most of all, the presence of His Spirit in every detail. Please continue to pray for deepening relationships with the campers, for open hearts during the messages, and for courage to step into conversations that point others to Jesus.

With love and thanks,
– Addie
