Romania Team Update #4

To those back home, here’s another update!!!

Our team met up in Romania after some very long travel days and were picked up in two vans by two of the main leaders, Christian and Emi, who are with the host church we are partnering with. After the two hour drive, we arrived in Megidia and after a brief dinner, the team split into guys and girls. The guys stayed at the community center and the girls stayed at a house that is intended to house trafficked Romanian girls in the future.

In the morning, we had breakfast at the church and attended the church service which was full of wonderful worship, prayer, a message, and communion. Afterwards, we all had lunch downstairs in the church and then we were briefed on the week of camp to come.

Unfortunately, our supply bins with all of our supplies to run workshops were last known to be left in Chicago and were not on their way to Romania. Due to the unfortunate reality of not having our supplies, we then spent the afternoon shopping for supplies to make up for what we lost and buying ice cream bars at our favorite store, Lidl. After the scavenger hunt for supplies, we hung out at the community center and spent quality time playing games and hanging out which was hilarious and peak bonding time.

Then, we packed our bags and met at the church for dinner, hangout time, and also admiring but definitely not touching a stray puppy that the team named Rhodey, before the vans arrived so that we could make the eight hour drive to the West side of Romania to the camp where we would meet up with the kids who had already left on a 12 hour train ride to get there. Hopefully we will get enough rest on the drive over so that we can have the energy to serve the Lord at the camp with all our hearts.
