Thailand Team Update #5

What an unforgettable day we experienced yesterday! It began with a delicious Thai breakfast that set a joyful tone for our time together. The real highlight came when we gathered with our incredible dorm directors, Paeng and Plewfire. Their genuine warmth and hospitality fostered a deep connection, allowing us to share heartfelt moments as we wrapped up our week at Seed of Hope. We are immensely grateful for Paul, whose attentive care ensured we embraced every aspect of this transformative experience.

So much has unfolded since our last update, and each moment has been filled with purpose and joy. Just the day before, we had the privilege of visiting Lawpa, the original founder, at his home—an encounter that felt truly special! A standout moment was our visit to Seed of Hope Coffee Co., where we enjoyed amazing coffee grown and harvested by the students’ parents.

Our time with the students was heartwarming; we shared laughter during a fun shopping trip to the local market, played games, and let our creativity shine through coloring and face painting. As the day progressed, we brought out volleyballs and soccer balls, filling the air with laughter and friendly competition. The evening program was equally enriching, with everyone contributing to a lively atmosphere of dancing, sharing stories of Jesus, and more games. The most touching moment was on our final night when the students expressed their desire for just a little more time together—a testament to the deep bonds we formed.

After breakfast on our final day, the students gathered for a prayer circle, and we were deeply moved when Paeng prayed for us. Saying goodbye was challenging, especially for one student who was so overwhelmed with sadness that she couldn’t help but shed tears, hiding behind one of the staff members to conceal her emotions. This beautiful moment illustrated the profound impact of our time together and how much we all cherished these experiences. Seed of Hope has truly left a mark on each of our hearts, and our team has done amazing work! Please continue to pray for us as we debrief in country and reflect on the experiences we just had.
